How Ofuska works
Ofuska protects your ID document in three steps: it stores it encrypted on your phone, creates copies with the unneeded data covered, and marks every copy — visibly and invisibly — so you always know who received it. Everything happens on your device, with no servers.
1. Store your document encrypted
Photograph your ID card, passport, driving licence or health card — front and back. Ofuska crops and straightens the image automatically and stores it encrypted with AES-256 on your phone.
The encryption key is derived from your 6-digit PIN: without it, nobody can open your documents — not even us. You can unlock with your fingerprint or face for everyday use.
2. Redact what they don't need to see
Paint with the brush, drag rectangles or use the quick zones for your document type to cover the signature, the support number, the date of birth or the MRZ — whatever the process doesn't need. Pixelation or blur with adjustable intensity, with undo and redo.
Optional and recommended: a black-and-white copy and the security mosaic — the recipient and the date repeated diagonally across the whole image, the standard police forces recommend.
3. Trace every copy
When you generate the copy, Ofuska embeds an invisible signature (steganography) unique to that recipient and that date. Your history keeps the exact photos you sent, encrypted and deletable.
If a copy shows up where it shouldn't, import it into "Verify copy": Ofuska tells you who you gave it to and when. The invisible mark survives as long as the image isn't recompressed; if a platform recompresses it with loss, the visible mosaic still gives the recipient away.
The result: every copy that leaves your phone carries an owner and a date. You share the minimum and, if something leaks, you know where it came from.
