Frequently asked questions
Answers to common questions about Ofuska's security, features and price. If your question is not here, get in touch.
Is it safe to send my DNI by WhatsApp or email?
Reduce the details shown before you send it. Ofuska helps you hide what is not needed, add the recipient and date, and keep a local record of the send.
Does Ofuska upload my documents to a server?
Documents, PINs and recipients are not sent to Ofuska. The optional vault is encrypted with a separate passphrase of at least 12 characters before upload to your Drive. RevenueCat receives anonymous technical data to validate Pro.
What happens if I forget my PIN?
A random master key encrypts your documents and your local PIN protects access to it. A Drive vault can be restored with its separate passphrase and protected with a new local PIN. Uninstalling does not delete the Drive vault.
Which parts of my ID should I cover?
Whatever the process does not need: often the signature, support number, date of birth or MRZ. Use the brush, rectangles or reusable masks; Pro adds per-photo templates and the What to hide guide helps you decide.
How do I find out who leaked my copy?
The watermark can match a PNG or JPEG to the locally recorded send if the image still contains it. This tells you who you recorded as the recipient, but it does not prove who leaked the copy. PDFs cannot be checked directly.
Does the invisible mark survive if the image is forwarded?
It may survive when the required pixels are preserved. Lossy recompression, cropping or screenshots can destroy it. A visible mosaic may still provide context, but it is not authenticated verification.
How much does it cost?
Pro is a one-off €4.99 in Spain, with no subscription. Google Play shows the local price in other countries.
Which languages is it available in?
Spanish, English, Catalan, Galician and Basque. You can set the language in Settings regardless of your system language.
Is it available for iPhone?
Ofuska is available for Android on Google Play. An iPhone version is planned, but there is no release date yet.
Why does it ask me to create a PIN at the start?
The PIN protects local access to the random master key that encrypts your documents. Neither the PIN nor the key is sent to Ofuska.
Does Ofuska work with documents from other countries?
Yes. You can store and redact identity documents from other countries. The same tools work for all of them: brush, rectangles, pixelation, blur and reusable masks.
Can I protect my health card too?
Yes. Your health card is stored encrypted like any other document. Before sharing it, you can hide sensitive details such as your Social Security number.
